One time gift
Supporting Taking the Reins with a one time gift is greatly appreciated. You can help TTR finish the new barn or support a child, horse or barn animal. Many donors choose to sponsor a girl or animal for one session, which is $500.00 every six weeks.

Monthly giving
We love monthly giving to support an animal or girl. You can choose the amount that is comfortable for you and know you are supporting something you love. Whatever you choose, you can rest assured your gift will have a positive affect on the life of a young woman.

Corporate Giving; Foundations & Trusts
Many corporations will offer to match monetary gifts you make to non-profits. Ask your company today! Also, if you have or are affiliated with a foundation or trust, larger gifts make a long term difference in the lives of under served girls in the Los Angeles Basin.

🎨 Made chlorophyll art by pressing a big giant juicy green leaf (Sunflower 🌻or Kale🥬 ) between a folded piece of watercolor paper. You fold paper in half around the leaf and then rub over top with the back of a spoon to press the chlorophyll out and that becomes the ink or paint that stamps evenly on both sides of the fold.
🍃 Talked about photosynthesis and why chlorophyll is so important!!

Women’s History Month | Caitlin Pigott then and now
Caitlin (@the.good.word.co) has been Taking the Reins’ Communications Consultant for almost 4 years! Horses have always been part of her life. Around age 10, she began showing Arabian horses and she hasn’t stopped. She’s pictured here with her first pony Kokomo and her family’s two horses currently at TTR, Cyzzle and Luke. They also were the first owners of forever favorite Scotty🪽
Women’s History Month | Liz Aulestia then and now
Our Program Director Liz Aulestia has also been a horse lover from day one! She grew up loving and showing Arabian horses. She carries that love on through her work at TTR — sharing her passion with hundreds of girls who come through our program. And, as you can see, she has passed on this love to her son Jaxson as well 🥹🤎
Women’s History Month | Jane Haven then and now
We are lucky to have life long horse lovers among the leadership of Taking the Reins. Starting at the very top, here is executive director Jane Haven. Jane grew up in Colorado with a family who had animals around always. Horses have remained an integral part of her life at every turn! 🤎
